On July 16, 2015, Dan Ross, President of Williams-Manny along with members of the Partner Group accepted the official induction during the Rockford Chamber of Commerce Founders Day Celebration. The beautiful event was held on the lawn of Rockford University as part of the Business After Hours.
This was the year that marked the 106th anniversary of the Rockford Chamber, and Williams-Manny has been a proud member since 1920. For the past 5 years the Rockford Chamber has selected significant business leaders who were founding members of have left a legacy in the Rock River Valley and honored them annually at this celebration, which was attended by local community members, our news media as well as those who were being honored.
Our founder, Henry "Hank" Williams was a man who started the business we know today on his mothers sewing machine table, which he used as a desk. He had a fondness for wide brimmed hats and flannel shirts and found creative ways to reach new customers and learn of new buisness opportunites. There was a story that he would locate lumber trucks and ask what job site they were going to and head out to see if he could help them with insurance.
