Leon received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of Wisconsin, where he majored in Marketing with an emphasis in Sales.  Upon graduation in 1988, he immediately obtained his insurance license.  In 1991, he became an underwriter for group medical and ancillary plan.  He then shifted to the marketing of employee benefits, where he has been a top production consultant for carriers such as: Prudential, New York Life, United Health and Guardian/ Destiny Health.  Leon has consulted for groups from 2 to 3,000 employees nationwide and for may types of industries including: manufacturing, service, technology, healthcare, financial, legal, non for profit, union/ non- union, schools, and municipalities, to name a few.

Leon has extensive knowledge of traditional products such as PPO’s and HMO’s; however, in the past five years he has been extremely successful at implementing consumer driven plans, such as HRA’s and HSA’s, in over 160 companies.  He is one of the first to implement an HRA as well as one of the first to implement an HSA in the United States.  Throughout his insurance career, Leon has received top honors such as: Aetna Rookie Salesman of the Year, Rush Prudential Salesperson of the Year, NYLCare Salesperson of the Year, and Guardian/ Destiny Health Sales Consultant of the Year

On a personal level, he is also involved in several not-for-profit organizations including: Christian Youth Theater (Past Board of Director), Indian Princess Program (Nation and Tribal Leader), Lead Worship at Light of Christ Church, Member of Algonquin/ Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce, Member DeKalb County Assoc. of Human Resource Managers.  Recent public speaking engagements have primarily been regarding Consumer Driven Health
